Divine Kpe trained as a professional teacher from St. Francis College of Education and Valley View University and certified as a Microsoft Innovative Educator. He has rich experience teaching students across diverse backgrounds with the unique ability to inspire learners to be the constructors of their knowledge and ideas. As a Teach SDGs Ambassador, he tailors his teaching toward the Sustainable Development Goals such that learners are able to establish the connection between what they learn and real-world problems (so that they can be providers of solutions to such societal issues).
Other than teaching his students to pass a standardized test, Divine also focusses his teaching on aiding his learners to acquire the skills for the 21-century place of work, life, and society; which include social and emotional skills. Intending to develop his learners to be global citizens, he connects his class to other classrooms outside Ghana for cross-pollination of ideas between his learners and those from different geographical locations. He also provides voluntary online teaching for the students at Kakuma Refugee Camp in Kenya.
His innovation and commitment toward improving educational quality have won for him several local and international awards/recognitions. Among them are; Appointment as Teach SDGs Ambassador by the Teach SDGs Organization (an organization aligned with the UN to promote the SDGs through education), 2018 Honoree of the Future Awards Africa for Education, Winner of the 2018 EDUCOM Awards for Innovative Digital Teacher, 2018 Bayport Teacher Innovation Competition Awards Top 10 Winner, and 2017 EDUCOM Awards for Education Support Worker.
